Now back in the print preview dialog click on the “ Open PDF in Preview” link on the lower left. That can do it, but there’s a more interesting solution, so click “ Cancel” instead. Now in this particular print dialog box, the one in Google Chrome, you can also change the destination of the printout to a different printer or, well, here, look: The implication is that every print job on a Mac is actually a PDF and that’s indeed the case, which is why it’s easy to save any print job as a file: the conversion from whatever format it started in to portable document format has already happened!
The secret is visible in the lower left corner, the link Open PDF in Preview. To accomplish that, click on the button ingeniously labeled Click Here to Print your Savings Certificate… Sounds good, doesn’t it? 20% off is a good deal, so I’ll click on ‘View Details” and that’s when I see that it’s (ostensibly, at least) a print-only coupon:Īll good, but I don’t want to print my savings certificate, I want to save it to my desktop.
